IGCA 45th Annual Convention

An IGCA convention isn't a dull, boring, sit-down-and-listen-to-speakers event. "It is more like a bee hive of activity." writes one who attended the 2009 affair. "It's an event where you can sharpen your craft through hands-on classes, take home actual candles you have made yourself, and get all your questions answered." Another attendee: "Attending was honestly one of the most rewarding experiences I have had as an IGCA member."

Tentative schedule - check often!

Registration deadline was May 1, 2010.

Time to make your room reservation at the Inn of The Ozarks! I suggest you call 479-253-9768; that is the direct number to the hotel. The people there are making plans and just waiting for us to arrive. You will not find a friendlier bunch that is easier to work with. You may arrive a couple days early, stay over a couple of days and you get the same rate. We have been given a rate of $69 per room, you may have up to 4 per room. Rooms are available with 1 king bed or with 2 queen beds. This rate will be good until 30 days prior to the Convention. Consider making your hotel reservations now to take advantage of this rate even if you aren't sure you can come to the Convention; if necessary, you can always cancel it.

The nearest airports are in Bentonville, AR (Walmart Corp Area) or Springfield, MO. Both airports have rental cars and are approximately the same distance from Eureka Springs. Click on either airport name for a Mapquest map.

We will have registration on Sunday, 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. There will be an early bird dinner Sunday at 6:30 pm. at Myrtie Mae's Restaurant at the hotel. Classes will start each day at 9 a.m. with Lunch at 12 p.m. Workshops will resume at 1:15 with Dinner at 6 p.m. We will have a Flea Market on Tuesday evening. A fun Auction will be held on Wednesday evening. The banquet on Thursday evening will bring the convention to a close. Here is the tentative schedule of events.

I hope we have been able to keep costs affordable for everyone. I feel we have found a great place in a great location at a nice time of year. The trees should all be blooming - just waiting to show off for us!

I hope to see you all there.
