History of the IGCA

The purpose of the IGCA is to instruct and train members; educate the public; to encourage good will, cooperation, fellowship, and exchange of educational ideas; and to raise and maintain the standards of candlemaking.

We are the only organization of our kind, offering an annual 5 day long convention with hands-on classes on all aspects of candlemaking, from basics to advanced techniques.  Members from all over the USA and all over the world join us each year for a wonderful week of learning & sharing!  If you are interested in candlemaking, this is the place for you!  You will gain invaluable information, and make great friends too!

For more about our history, please visit About IGCA. The links down the left side of this page will take you to various sections of this site. It includes our Convention and Workshop information, Competition Rules and Regulations, Membership Benefits and Application, Safety Tips on Burning and Making Candles, a Candle Makers and Suppliers Index plus Articles and a Candle Glossary. We also have a Candle Gallery with photos of all kinds of candles.

Join us in the IGCA Forum for help in all areas of candlemaking. It's free!
