What Members Say About IGCA
"I have been a member of IGCA for 24 years. It has been and continues to be a very rewarding experience. When I joined in the mid-70s, many of the charter members of the Guild were still active, and they were extremely helpful to those of us who were less experienced. The Guild provided an opportunity to exchange ideas, to learn and to teach, and to make some great friends form all over the U.S. and the world. Membership also provided access to sources of supplies that I would otherwise have had to hunt down for myself. Attending workshops and conventions was and is one of the best parts of membership, creating a chance to meet and talk with suppliers as well as other candle makers. The information provided in The Candlelighter alone is worth the cost of membership."
T.J. Wissmiller"I had started to make candles again after viewing a demonstration at our state fair and visited candle shops on vacation after that. I visited a shop owner who was so enthusiastic and so helpful on one vacation. She just insisted that I join IGCA. Her enthusiasm and helpfulness encouraged me to take that step. That was 28 years ago. I have enjoyed learning from others and sharing my skills with others. I started going to workshops first and then conventions. Now I don't miss workshops and have missed very few conventions. Candle makers across the country and world number among my best friends. I enjoy sharing what I have learned from IGCA and from my own experimentation so I am found teaching classes at workshops and conventions. I know that I probably wouldn't still be making candles and if I was, they wouldn't be the quality they are now, had I not joined IGCA. I continue to thank the members, past and present, for their help, encouragement, and friendship."
